Maserati has ushered in the new year by revealing the establishment of its latest business frontier, the Overseas Region, a strategic move poised to redefine the luxury Italian manufacturer’s global market approach. Leading this expansion is the newly appointed Head of the Overseas Region, Hamdy Elshantoury, effective from January 1st.

The addition of the Overseas Region marks a pivotal moment in Maserati’s market organization, now comprising five distinct regions: US & Canada (North America), Europe, China, Japan & Korea, and the recently formed Overseas. This restructuring involves the redistribution of markets from existing regions, amalgamating them into an entirely new entity equipped with a dedicated marketing team ready to serve as a vital conduit for partners and the dealer network in day-to-day operations and initiatives.

In tandem with Elshantoury’s appointment, who also retains ad interim responsibility for MEA, Wong Yi Mui Wallace assumes responsibility for SEAP & India markets, and Marco Spadaro takes charge of the East Europe and Latin American markets.

This strategic move stems from Maserati’s unwavering commitment to catering to every market’s unique needs, with a focus on growth, concentration, and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders. The objective is to capitalize on opportunities and address the diverse demands of various business structures.

To ensure seamless coordination, the region head and regional functions will be headquartered in Italy, situated at Maserati’s base in Modena. This positioning aims to foster close ties between the Overseas Region leadership team and central management, expediting support to markets and streamlining decision-making processes. Meanwhile, the market management team will remain situated within the region, maintaining close connections with their respective countries.

Davide Grasso, Maserati CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the developments, stating, “We are pleased to commence the year with the announcement of a new global region and the appointment of Hamdy Elshantoury as its head. The creation of a fifth region underscores Maserati’s commitment to refining our global business configuration, ensuring precise alignment with individual market needs, and dedicating the attention necessary to enhance development and efficiency in each region.”
