In 2023, BMW Group Malaysia achieved another impressive feat, showcasing robust business performance by delivering over 15,000 units of BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad vehicles. Notably, as part of their 20th-anniversary celebrations in the country, BMW Group Malaysia secured its position as the Number One Premium Electric Vehicle Provider. They delivered over 3,600 electrifying units of BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad vehicles, constituting an impressive 24.5% of total deliveries and marking a remarkable 136% growth compared to the previous year. This achievement brings the total number of premium electrified BMW vehicles on Malaysian roads to nearly 30,000, contributing significantly to the future of electrified mobility in the country.

In terms of individual brand successes, BMW delivered nearly 11,700 premium luxury vehicles, MINI experienced a remarkable growth of 42% with over 1,700 vehicles delivered, and BMW Motorrad saw a 13% increase with over 1,500 motorcycles delivered. Collectively, these accomplishments represent an almost 4% increase in total deliveries across the BMW Group portfolio compared to 2022.

Apart from the above announcement, BMW Malaysia also preview the facelifted Plug-in Hybrid BMW X5 variant. This new X5 will be continue to be locally assembled, and it will be the BMW X5 xDrive50e. Coming with M Sport package as standard, the new X5 will come with better performance, more efficient, and greater electric range.

The updated car will come with a more powerful PHEV powertrain, and it now produces 489 hp and 700 Nm of torque. This is 96 hp more than the outgoing model. The powertrain combines a 3.0L turbocharged inline-6 engine mated to a powerful electric motor, where it allow the new X5 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. With a bigger battery, the X5 now has a maximum WLTP range of 110km. Other than a bigger battery, the onboard charger has also been updated to a 7.4 kW charging speed, where it can charge from 0-100 % in just 4.5 hours.

Within the impeccably crafted interior of the New BMW X5 xDrive50e M Sport, the driver is welcomed by the remarkable 14.9-inch BMW Curved Display featuring a fully digital display cluster, now enhanced with the cutting-edge BMW Operating System 8.5.
