In a triumphant culmination, the ‘VIA Safe Mobility Malaysia 2023′ initiative, a collaborative venture between TotalEnergies Malaysia and ARUS Academy, concluded with remarkable success. Attracting over 2000 students from various corners of Malaysia, the program garnered more than 90 thought-provoking posters that conveyed the students’ perspectives on road safety.
This crucial initiative aims to enhance road safety awareness among school students while concurrently fostering and empowering the next generation of young road safety ambassadors. These ambassadors are envisioned to propagate awareness in their schools and communities.
The closing ceremony, graced by Pn. Maizatul Arzia bt Omar (Assistant Director of the Student Talent Development Unit at the Putrajaya Education Department), Dr. Rizati Hamidun (Research Officer from the Malaysia Institute of Road Safety Research), Jennifer Li (Managing Director of TotalEnergies Marketing Malaysia), and Alina Amir (CEO and Co-Founder of ARUS Academy), marked the culmination of this impactful program.
Since its launch in July 2022, the VIA Safe Mobility Malaysia program has actively engaged 43,150 students aged 10 to 16 years old in Malaysia. In 2023 alone, the program has been implemented in 137 schools across the country, featuring a road safety poster drawing competition with 42 participating schools. The closing ceremony not only celebrated the outstanding achievements of the winners but also showcased insightful presentations by student ambassadors outlining their plans to drive change in road safety awareness within schools.
The VIA Safe Mobility Malaysia 2023 program exemplifies the potency of collaboration and education in effecting positive change. TotalEnergies Malaysia and ARUS Academy extend their congratulations to the three national winners of the poster drawing competition: Sekolah Kebangsaan Desa Pandan in Kuala Lumpur, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Tamil Kajang, and Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint 16 (2).
Furthermore, the VIA Safe Mobility Program has transcended borders through the TotalEnergies Foundation, achieving a milestone with deployments in 40 countries across the five continents.
