The Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Yang Berhormat Tuan Liew Chin Tong, commended the progressive vision demonstrated by Auto Bavaria and DC Handal, emphasizing its alignment with Malaysia’s goal to establish itself as a regional leader in sustainable mobility. The expansion of fast-charging facilities not only supports the national agenda for a robust EV ecosystem but also underscores the importance of developing an industrial policy to boost the local electric vehicle supply chain.
Sashi Ambihaipahan, Head of Corporate Communications and Sustainability for BMW Group Malaysia, highlighted the collaboration’s dedication to revolutionizing the EV landscape. The initiative sets a new standard for accessibility and convenience for EV owners, contributing to the goals outlined in Budget 2024.
By leveraging the strengths of both entities, Auto Bavaria and DC Handal aim to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of electric vehicle charging. The partnership will establish fast-charging facilities at 10 key locations across the Klang Valley and Penang, with plans for additional sites in the pipeline. The goal is to create a robust charging ecosystem supporting the growing adoption of electric vehicles in Malaysia.
BMW Group Malaysia has already made over 1,700 charging facilities available in its network, and the collaboration with DC Handal is a key element in its strategic infrastructure expansion plan for the coming year. With a focus on fast-charging solutions, DC Handal, a key player in EVSE technology, is poised to contribute significantly to a sustainable future of mobility.
