UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) has underscored its unwavering commitment to creating a brighter future for all by making a substantial donation to the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM) through its Start Your Impossible (SYI) campaign. This generous contribution will significantly bolster NCSM’s capacity to expand and enhance its services and programs.
The SYI campaign, initiated by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in conjunction with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, serves as the backdrop for UMWT’s annual Toyota Outrun event. This event not only promotes a youthful brand image but also reaffirms UMWT’s status as an innovative mobility company. Importantly, the event’s proceeds are earmarked for esteemed Non-Governmental Organizations, with NCSM being a notable beneficiary.
The 2023 Toyota Outrun witnessed an overwhelming response, resulting in a remarkable collection of RM170,000. This substantial contribution will empower NCSM, which has been a pioneering non-profit cancer organization in Malaysia since its inception in 1966. NCSM has consistently provided education, care, and support services to individuals affected by cancer and the broader community. The funds raised through Toyota Outrun will serve to amplify NCSM’s services, supporting critical initiatives such as Community Cancer and Health Screening programs, including the transformative Jejak Kanser, and Vaccination Drives. Additionally, the donation will facilitate daily transportation for patients residing in Children and Adult’s Homes, ensuring essential access to medical care.
The official handover ceremony took place at the UMWT Shah Alam Office and was attended by senior management representatives from UMWT and distinguished representatives from NCSM. This collaborative effort between UMW Toyota Motor and NCSM demonstrates a powerful synergy between corporate and social responsibility, showcasing how organizations can come together to create a significant and positive impact on society.
