Sime Darby Motors recently embarked on its ‘Seeds of Sustainability’ initiative, which is dedicated to the preservation of natural ecosystems. This initiative is in perfect harmony with Sime Darby Motors’ unwavering commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
To put these principles into action, more than 100 dedicated employee volunteers gathered at Sepang Gold Coast to engage in tree planting activities and a beach cleanup. They joined forces with the non-governmental organization Ocean Hero Conservation for this environmental endeavor.
The ‘Seeds of Sustainability’ project was a resounding success, with over 50 Casuarina saplings being carefully planted along the picturesque shoreline of Sepang Gold Coast. What’s more, the diligent volunteers managed to collect a remarkable 73 kilograms of debris from the beach, making a significant impact on the local environment.
To ensure that the participants fully understood the importance of ESG principles and their individual roles in supporting Sime Darby Motors’ sustainability initiatives, an ESG awareness briefing and a sustainability workshop were conducted.
Sime Darby Motors is resolutely committed to leading by example in the realm of sustainability. As the company forges ahead, it aims to continue nurturing a greener future for Malaysia through its dedicated efforts in environmental preservation. The ‘Seeds of Sustainability’ initiative serves as a testament to the company’s dedication to fostering a more sustainable and eco-conscious future for the nation.
