Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC) recently own two accolades at the CarPlus Editor’s Choice Awards for the 2022-2023 period. The awards include the “Pick-up Truck of the Year” for the Next-Gen Ranger and the coveted “Car of the Year” for the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor.
The Next-Generation Ford Ranger has undergone a significant revamp, featuring updated aesthetics with improved aerodynamics and heightened interior comfort. It boasts a diverse range of powerful and efficient engines, complemented by a suite of industry-leading intuitive technologies and an extensive array of best-in-class safety features. In the Malaysian market, the Next-Gen Ranger lineup consists of nine distinct variants, catering to various customer preferences. These range from the rugged and practical XL Single Cab to the premium and lifestyle-oriented WildTrak and the high-performance Ranger Raptor.
Designed and engineered with Ford’s performance DNA, the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor offers a choice of two highly-tuned engine options. The ultra-performance 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 petrol powertrain delivers an impressive 397 PS and 583 Nm of torque. Alternatively, the 2.0-liter Bi-Turbo Diesel engine provides a power output of up to 210 PS and 500 Nm of torque, all while maintaining competitive fuel efficiency at 8.2 liters per 100 kilometers.
The CarPlus Editor’s Choice Award is a prestigious recognition that celebrates automotive excellence in Malaysia. It is dedicated to honoring the most exceptional vehicles across a range of categories, emphasizing their outstanding performance, innovative design, and overall driving experience. Nominations for this award are drawn from new models introduced in the Malaysian market within the previous 12 months, spanning the period from July 2022 to July 2023.
