Carro recently showcased its rigorous 160-point inspection process and innovative patented technology at its flagship refurbishment center located in USJ. This 95,832 square-foot facility is just one of the many refurbishment centers and workshops that Carro operates in key markets across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. In the near future, it will be rebranded as “Carro Care” as part of a strategic partnership with Jardine Cycle & Carriage. Inspections, refurbishment, and aftersales services are pivotal to Carro and myTukar’s business models, and they are committed to expanding and optimizing their technical services.

At the core of the 160-point inspection and refurbishment process lies the concept of “Carro Certified” and “myTukar Certified” – a seal of assurance that signifies a used car has undergone a thorough inspection and refurbishment.

Notably, not all cars qualify for this certification. Only vehicles that successfully pass a stringent 160-point inspection, exhibit zero mileage tampering, and show no major accident, fire, or flood damage are eligible. The rigorous inspection also encompasses a comprehensive refurbishment process, including:

  • Body and paintwork overseen by experts to ensure a pristine exterior.
  • Mechanical repairs covering the engine, steering wheels, suspension, transmission, brakes, gears, and tires.
  • Interior refurbishment, including electronic repairs, dashboard refurbishment, leather stitching, and headlining repair.
  • A final inspection and test drive to ensure the vehicle meets the highest standards.

Carro’s refurbishment centers leverage the power of artificial intelligence (AI) through Acoustic Engineering and Computer Visioning, innovative patented technology that is standardized across the region. The Acoustic Engineering technology is integrated into an internal app, featuring an extensive library of car engine sounds from various makes and models, used to detect potential engine issues. Meanwhile, Computer Visioning can identify and provide insights into even the smallest imperfections like bumps, scrapes, and other body anomalies, significantly enhancing the efficiency and capabilities of their experts and inspectors.

Carro currently operates a total of 14 refurbishment and workshop facilities across Southeast Asia, all of which will undergo rebranding into “Carro Care” in phases. Together, these facilities have a combined maximum monthly capacity of 2,800 cars for refurbishment and servicing, reflecting Carro’s commitment to delivering high-quality used cars to its customers across the region.
