Volvo Car Malaysia will be launching its 2024 fleet, featuring updates and enhancements across the board for the XC90, XC60, S90, S60, and V60 plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). These changes reflect Volvo’s commitment to electrification and aim to provide customers with a superior driving experience while minimizing charging times and maximizing convenience.

The key highlights of the 2024 Volvo models include:

  • Improved On-Board Charger (OBC): All 2024 PHEV models will be equipped with a more powerful on-board charger, boasting a 6.4 kW capacity for two- or three-phase charging, reducing charging times significantly. For single-phase charging, it defaults to a still impressive 3.6 kW, offering owners more control over their electric journeys.
  • Stylish New Exterior Color: Volvo introduces a new and elegant exterior color option, Vapour Grey, joining the existing palette of Onyx Black, Crystal White, Denim Blue, and Platinum Grey.
  • Standard Panoramic Sunroof: The 2024 models will feature a panoramic sunroof as a standard feature, enhancing the overall driving experience.
  • Fresh Wheel Designs: The S90 Recharge will sport a new eight-spoke wheel design, while the V60 Recharge and S60 Recharge will receive a fresh six-spoke version, adding a touch of sophistication to these models.
  • Digital Services Package: Buyers of the 2024 models will enjoy a 5-year complimentary Digital Services package, offering access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Play Store, and Volvo Cars app remote functions.
  • YouTube Integration: The Google built-in infotainment system in all new 2024 models will include the YouTube app, providing entertainment options when the vehicle is stationary. This feature is also available for eligible previous Volvo models through an over-the-air software update.

In addition to these enhancements, the Volvo XC90 Recharge remains the sole seven-seater PHEV SUV in Malaysia, offering active air suspension and an impressive pure-electric range of up to 77 kilometers, enabling emissions-free daily commutes without relying on petrol power.

The XC60, another standout model, shares many luxury features with the XC90, including the Bowers & Wilkins high-fidelity audio system, air purifier, head-up display, hands-free tailgate, emergency stop and pilot assist, and a 360° Surround View Camera.

Safety remains a top priority for Volvo, with all 2024 models equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Lane Keeping Aid, and Collision Avoidance & Mitigation with Steering Support and Braking.

The updated 2024 Volvo models are set to hit the market in September 2023. Enthusiasts can book test drives for the XC90, XC60, S90, S60, and V60 through Volvo Car Malaysia’s official website here.
