In order to stay up to date, Toyota Malaysia decided to update their B-segment hatchback, the Toyota Yaris IMP. This updated hatchback will come with updated styling, new technology, and a refreshed interior.
For the updated Yaris IMP, it comes with 2 different variants, the 1.5E and 1.5G. Both variants will come with new front and rear skirting, and optional black roof to make the vehicle look sportier. In total, there are 5 different colour combination available for customers to choose from, with the Red Mica Metallic and Platinum White Pearl available in single or dual-tone option. As for the Silver Metallic finish, it will only be available in single tone.
On the inside, the new Yaris will come with a larger 9-inch instrument cluster that will feature wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity. It will also add on wireless charger, and new seat fabric graphics, and the USB port is now the latest Type-C format. The front driving video recorder (DVR) is now standard, and the instrument cluster comes with a red background to give a sportier appearance. Additionally, the 1.5G gets soft leather steering wheel with paddle shifters, a pre-installed RFID tag and parking aid sensors at the front and rear.
The Yaris not only get cosmetic upgrade, a whole host of safety feature is now available as standard on both variants. The Yaris will get Toyota Safety Sense Pre-collision System & Lane Departure Alert, 7 SRS Airbags, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Vehicle Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, 3D panoramic view monitor and more.
The Yaris will continue to be powered by the 2NR-FE 1.5-litre 4-cylinder DOHC power plant with Dual VVT-i, mated to the 7-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic transmission. The new Yaris will be priced at RM 88,000 for the 1.5 E, and RM 91,600 for the 1.5G (On The Road Price Without Insurance). Apart from that, the Yaris will come with full 5-year warranty with unlimited mileage coverage.
