CelcomDigi Berhad (CelcomDigi) and Yinson Holdings Berhad (Yinson) recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at fostering innovation in electric vehicle (EV) services and infrastructure for Malaysian consumers. This partnership is poised to accelerate the adoption of EVs and green energy solutions across the nation.

Under the terms of the collaboration, Yinson will harness the extensive and high-speed 4G LTE and 5G network capabilities offered by CelcomDigi to enhance connectivity for chargeEV, Malaysia’s largest EV charging point operator, along with rydeEV and drivEV in the burgeoning eMobility sector.

Moreover, both companies will pool their resources to explore groundbreaking solutions designed to provide consumers with seamless connectivity while granting them easier access to eco-friendly, technology-driven services. These offerings include eBikes, electric vehicles, EV charging stations, and the integration of solar infrastructure.

The MoU was formally signed by Datuk Idham Nawawi and Lim Chern Yuan during the EVM Asia 2023 event, which was hosted as part of the Smart Nation Expo 2023. The signing ceremony garnered the presence and support of YB Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup, Deputy Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation in Malaysia. Other notable attendees included Lim Han Weng, Group Executive Chairman of Yinson, Albern Murty, Deputy CEO of CelcomDigi, and T. Kugan, Chief Innovation Officer of CelcomDigi. This partnership marks a significant step toward advancing sustainable and tech-driven transportation solutions in Malaysia.
