Porsche Malaysia recently introduced the latest most hardcore, track focus, road legal Porsche 911 ever to the Malaysian market. This is also in line with Porsche celebrating 60 years of the Porsche 911, where see Porsche Malaysia launch the 992 generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The new GT3 RS will feature a high revving naturally aspirated engine, lightweight construction, and optimized cooling and aerodynamic systems.

With this latest generation 911 GT3 RS, Porsche engineers have incorporated a central radiator concept that was derived from the 911 RSR and 911 GT3 R. This central radiator concept replaces the traditional 3-radiator layout, where the large center radiator not only provide more efficient cooling, but also free up space on the sides and the radiator can be integrated into the active aerodynamic elements.

Speaking about active aerodynamic, the latest GT3 RS will features continuously adjustable wing elements in the front and on the two-part rear wing. These aerodynamic components allow the car to achieve a total downforce of 409kg at 200km/h, which is 2 times more than the last GT3 RS, and 3 times more than the current GT3. At 285 km/h, the total downforce goes up to 860 kg. But to allow the car to achieve higher speed on straight line, the GT3 RS also comes with a drag reduction system (DRS) that flattens the wing on straight roads.

To support the downforce created by the aerodynamics around the vehicle, GT3 RS comes with a double wishbone front axle that comes in a teardrop shaped profiles. This design decision allow the front axle to produce up to 40kg at top speed. This new front axle is also 29mm wider than the regular GT3, which is contributed by the longer front axle links.

In terms of driving mode, the GT3 RS comes with 3 driving modes, Normal, Sport, and Track. In the track mode, it allows the driver to change multiple individual setting to suit their driving experience. These settings include the rebound and compression damping on both front and rear axles, amount of lock on the rear differential, and the DRS. To change these settings, there are 4 rotary dials on the steering wheel to facilitate it.

As for the powertrain, the 4.0L naturally aspirated engine comes with an increased power to 525PS by using a new cam profile. This engine is mated to a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) that has a shorter overall gear ratio than the 911 GT3. This allow the 911 GT3 RS to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, and to a top speed of 296 km/h.

To slow the vehicle down, the 911 GT3 RS comes with aluminum monobloc fixed-calliper brakes with six pistons each and brake discs with a 408 mm diameter. At the rear, the car comes with 380mm brake discs with four-piston fixed-calliper brakes. For those who wants even better brakes, customers could opt for the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB), featuring larger 410 mm discs on the front axle and 390 mm discs on the rear axle. These impressive brakes are fitted behind a set of forged light-alloy center-lock wheels. The 911 GT3 RS comes with staggered sports tires that measures in at 275/35 R 20 at the front and 335/30 R21 at the rear.

One of the highlight of the 911 GT3 RS is the intelligent lightweight construction, where Porsche has extensively uses CFRP around the vehicle. This resulted that the new vehicle only weigh in at 1,450 kg (kerb weight according to DIN). The CFRP are being used to produce the 911 GT3 RS’s doors, front wings, rood, and front lid. CFRP can also be found inside the vehicle, such as the standard full bucket seats.

Inside the GT3 RS, it comes with black leather, Racetex, and carbon-weave finish. This created a purist and sporting ambiance for the driver. Customers can choose the Clubsport package at no extra cost, which will add a steel rollover bar, hand-held fire extinguisher, and 6-point harness for the driver.

For the ultimate experience, customers could opt for the Weissach package. This include carbon-weave finish on the on front lid, roof, rear wing parts, and exterior mirrors. The front and rear anti-roll bars, rear coupling rods, and rear axle shear panel are made out of CFRP. On top of that, the Weissach package will feature PDK shift paddles with magnet technology for more dynamic gear changes. The Weissach package also allow customers to choose the optional magnesium forged wheels, further reducing the overall weight by 8 kg.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS prices starting from a whopping RM2,630,000 . Find out more, visit our website at https://bit.ly/911GT3RS-launch.
