In celebration of Merdeka and Malaysia Day, myTukar Powered by Carro, recently unveiled a poignant brand film titled ‘Tukar Generation.’ This 90-second cinematic masterpiece is a tribute to the core values of unity, diversity, and ambition that define the nation. Featuring an endearing ensemble of schoolchildren aged 7 to 9, the film captures their aspirations and profound desire for transformative change, transcending racial and societal backgrounds.

Linguistic harmony takes center stage in this multi-language advertisement, beautifully shot in Malay, Tamil, Mandarin, and Sarawak Malay. The film’s compelling message resonates deeply: no dream is too audacious, no ambition too modest, and no substantial change materializes without embarking on a purposeful journey.

Reflecting on the film, myTukar CEO Derrick Eng shares, “We sought to reignite the collective memory of Malaysians as once-dreaming children and to reinforce the power of preserving those dreams and making a difference. myTukar embarked on a mission to revolutionize the car trading experience for consumers from the very outset. With an unwavering vision of revitalizing the pre-owned car industry, we’ve initiated transformative shifts that have elevated the sector. This film serves as an affectionate missive to every Malaysian, with a special hope that its message will serve as a wellspring of inspiration for those committed to fostering change within their communities.”

Fong Hon Sum, the Chairman and Founder of myTukar, reflects on the company’s journey: “The past six years have marked an incredible odyssey for us at myTukar. Our humble beginnings in a Glenmarie shop lot, supported by five shareholders, 30 dedicated staff, and 60 small-scale dealers, have evolved into a thriving enterprise bolstered by technology, transparency, and trust. Our commitment remained steadfast even through the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, as we retained our entire workforce and championed job creation and skill enhancement. Today, our workforce in Malaysia surpasses 1,000 individuals. Through this film, we aspire to kindle the spirit of future generations of visionaries and change-makers in Malaysia, empowering them to chase their dreams against all odds.”
