Lotus Malaysia has exciting news for automotive enthusiasts as they introduce the 4-cylinder variant of the Lotus Emira to the Malaysian market. The noteworthy announcement brings with it a special offer, pricing the vehicle at RM 998,800. This exclusive rate is applicable solely to 2023 manufacturing, preceding the imminent standard pricing. Within Peninsular Malaysia, the official price is set at RM 1,095,000, while Langkawi’s duty-free price stands at RM 509,000.

Under the hood, the all-new Lotus Emira i4 boasts a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine, a remarkable creation sourced from Mercedes-AMG. This powerplant is artfully coupled with an 8-speed dual clutch transmission. Lotus engineers have meticulously enhanced the engine by incorporating various modifications, including a revamped intake and exhaust system. These adaptations empower the engine to generate a spirited 360 bhp at 6,600 rpm, accompanied by an impressive 430 Nm at 3,000 – 5,000 rpm. The Emira i4’s remarkable performance enables it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 4.4 seconds and achieve a top speed of 290 km/h.

In line with the brand’s heritage, the Emira showcases a chassis crafted from bonded aluminium, ensuring a harmonious blend of rigidity and lightweight construction. The suspension system, similarly fashioned from forged aluminium, contributes to outstanding tire traction, especially during cornering manoeuvres. The rear subframe, housing the engine, is innovatively manufactured from cast aluminium, shedding 12 kg compared to its V6 Emira counterpart.

The driving experience of the Emira is further enriched by an Electro-hydraulic steering system, enhancing the driver’s connection to the road. Collaborating seamlessly with Eibach springs and Bilstein high-pressure dampers, the steering system is tailored to the diverse chassis alternatives. Speaking of chassis options, the Emira offers both a Tour chassis for road-driving pleasure and a Sport chassis designed for track enthusiasts.

Each corner of the Emira i4 is adorned with purpose-built tires, meticulously developed to harmonize with the vehicle’s steering and traction dynamics. The Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport tires complement the Tour chassis, while the Sport chassis is equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Braking prowess is equally impressive, featuring lightweight two-piece cross-drilled and slotted discs, matched with 4-piston callipers at the front. Notably, customers have the option to select the colour of their brake callipers.

The exterior design of the Emira takes inspiration from the Evija hypercar, resulting in an aesthetically captivating appearance. Full LED headlights incorporating distinctive double ‘blade’ daytime running lights (DRL) grace the front. Notably, the design incorporates angular bonnet ducts, strategically guiding airflow to reduce drag. Employing computational fluid dynamics simulations and wind tunnel refinement, Lotus designers have integrated gloss black vents at the rear to alleviate air pressure from the wheel arches. A gloss black rear diffuser aids in augmenting down force. The Emira i4 boasts an extensive palette of 13 exterior colour options, including iconic choices like Hethel Yellow and Magma Red.

Stepping inside the Emira reveals a realm of luxury, spaciousness, premium materials, and cutting-edge technologies. A 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster takes center stage above the flat-bottomed steering wheel, while a 10.25-inch touchscreen graces the dashboard’s center. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity grace the infotainment system, complemented by a 560W premium audio system featuring 6 speakers developed by KEF.

The interior of the Emira promises comfort, highlighted by 12-way power adjustable heated seats, ensuring stability during spirited driving sessions. Nappa leather, available in black, red, ice grey, or tan, swathes the cabin. An alternative choice includes black alcantara upholstery. Owners can personalize the stitching colour, choosing from yellow, red, or ice grey. The headliner is elegantly draped in black alcantara for an opulent touch.

Enhancing the atmosphere, satin chrome trim finishers accompany white interior mood lighting. Notably, Lotus has incorporated branded sill kick plates and offers customizable options for the top dead centre band and stitching on the Nappa leather steering wheel. Storage capacity is generous, offering 208L behind the front seats and an additional 151L in the rear luggage compartment.

This first edition of the Emira is bundled with 4 standard option packs. Gloss black accents adorn the roof, cantrails, mirror pods, and Lotus wordmark on the rear clamshell. Satin black exhaust finishers round off the lower black pack. The design pack boasts privacy glass, sports pedals, a black alcantara headliner, and Emira-branded footwell mats. The convenience pack includes front parking sensors, a rear reversing camera, rain sensing wipers, auto-dimming mirrors, and a rear luggage storage net. The Lotus Driver Pack, the ultimate addition, presents the choice between Tour or Sports suspension, Track mode ESP, and a Track mode display optimized for track driving information.

To provide an immersive experience, the Emira is available for preview at the Lotus Store in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
