Clean energy solutions provider Gentari Sdn Bhd, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, has recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BMW Group Malaysia to explore and implement a range of green mobility services, electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions, and renewable energy deployment. The signing ceremony, attended by key representatives from both companies, signifies a strategic partnership aimed at advancing sustainable transportation and clean energy infrastructure in the Asian market.

Gentari and BMW are actively collaborating to explore various potential initiatives, including the installation of EV charging infrastructure at multiple locations, with a focus on BMW dealerships and other facilities. Additionally, the partnership aims to introduce diverse EV fleet solutions tailored to the Malaysian market, providing innovative value-added services for BMW EV owners such as subscription plans for EV charging, electric forecourts, portable charging, and mobile charging services. Furthermore, the two companies plan to jointly develop renewable energy infrastructure to power their green mobility initiatives.

Since its launch in June 2022, Gentari has rapidly expanded its green mobility network, successfully deploying more than 160 charging points in Malaysia and over 170 charging points in India through its affiliated entities. By 2030, Gentari aims to become the most valued clean energy solutions partner in the Asia Pacific region, targeting a market share of over 10% in charge points and Vehicle-as-a-Service (VaaS) offerings in key Asian markets.

In parallel, BMW Group Malaysia has been actively developing the EV ecosystem, providing over 1,000 charging facilities within its network. These facilities are made accessible through partnerships with ChargEV, Yinson Greentech, JomCharge, Gentari, Shell Recharge with ParkEasy, ChargeN’Go, ChargeSini, Go To-U, and FlexiParking. BMW i and MINI charging facilities are also available at authorized dealerships and partnering venues across the country, with further expansion planned as part of the strategic infrastructure development in the coming year.
