BMW Malaysia recently updated the BMW X6 with the arrival of the new BMW X6 xDrive40i for the Malaysian market. This latest update will be priced at RM 754,800.00, and it will have a more extroverted, dynamic outlook for the vehicle, going beyond the inclusion of the M Sport package.
With this new design, the updated X6 will come with new 3D BMW kidney grille slats with LED lighting (Iconic Glow) at the front. It will be complimented by the Adaptive LED headlights with a slimmer profile, and also feature the stylized X design daytime running light. Additionally, there are triangular air intakes with vertically arranged Air Curtains in the front bumper. The rear will also see more sculpted taillights with a pronounced athletic appearance. The rear bumper also comes with a pearl chrome skid plate. The X6 also gets brand new 22-inch M light alloy wheels with staggered tires. As standard, the X6 comes with the M Aerodynamic package as standard.
For the interior, the new X6 has been completely updated by combining elegance and digitalization. The biggest update here is the BMW Curved Display, where it features a 12.3-inch Information Display and a 14.9-inch high-resolution touchscreen Control Display as standard. With this display, BMW managed to digitize and simplify the interior, making it look cleaner and help the driver to focus on essential controls to be more efficient when driving. The control elements below the Central Display and fresh-air vents are integrated, creating a sleek and sophisticated ambiance.
On the dashboard, the trim strip is now wider, emphasizing the horizontal layout and serving as an elegant backdrop for the BMW Curved Display. The center console has also been redesigned, and it now comes with tidier layout and more touch-sensitive function keys. Gear changes are now performed using a rocker switch optimally placed within the center console, alongside the BMW Controller.
Inside the X6, it will feature M leather steering wheel, BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery, and electrically adjustable, ventilated front comfort seats. Rear passengers will get roller sun blinds for rear side windows, a large panoramic glass roof, and a standard light bar. To add on to the luxury appeal, the X6 is also being complemented by the “Crafted Clarity” glass application.
Powering the X6 is a 3.0L twin turbo inline 6 engine with a 48V mild-hybrid engine. This engine has the ability to produce 381 hp and 540 Nm of peak torque, and power is being sent to all 4 wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. This helped the BMW X6 to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds and to a top speed of 250 km/h. To help handle this performance, the X6 will come with Adaptive M Suspension that are regulated individually and efficiently through the different drive modes.
Just like any modern day BMW, the BMW Curved screen will be powered by the BMW Operating System 8 and feature the BMW Live Cockpit Plus with advanced features. On top of that, there is the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant to support the driver to help them focus on driving. The infotainment system is linked up to the Harman Kardon Surround sound system for onboard entertainment.
With Comfort Access, the X6 can be locked and unlocked via a compatible smartphone. As standard, the BMW X6 comes with Driving Assistant Professional that allows the SUV to offer Level 2 Partial Driving Automation with camera and radar-based assistance. And to help the driver to park the vehicle, the X6 comes with Parking Assistant Professional as standard. The Parking Assistant Professional utilizes cameras and ultrasound for assistance. It also offers a full 360-degree camera view. To top it all off, the X6 features Remote Control Parking function using a smartphone, and it includes Maneuver Assistant for saving and initiating parking presets.
The BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport is available in a variety of exterior color options, including M Carbon Black, Black Sapphire, Mineral White, Manhattan, M Brooklyn Grey, Skyscraper Grey, and Aventurine Red. And for the interior, the X6 could be upholstered with BMW Individual Extended Leather Trim ‘Merino’ in Black or Tartufo.
