Sime Darby Motors finally unveiled the BYD Dolphin, marking another significant achievement in the country’s growing EV market. This latest release comes just six months after the successful launch of BYD’s first all-electric passenger car, the BYD ATTO 3. The BYD Dolphin is BYD’s small electric vehicle that will feature BYD’s technology that includes the Blade Battery, e-Platform 3.0, and the 8-in-1 electric powertrain that optimizes space utilization and energy efficiency.
Drawing inspiration from its namesake, the BYD Dolphin’s design concept revolves around an Ocean Aesthetic, featuring elegant bodywork with flowing contours, a continuous LED headlight across the centre grille, geometric taillight design, and fin-shaped grab handles. 
Inside the car, passengers enjoy ample space, comfortable seating, numerous storage compartments, and a flexible trunk area. The BYD Dolphin ensures a safe and effortless driving experience with its mini turning radius of 5.25m, a 360-degree high-definition viewing monitor, and advanced driver assistance systems. The vehicle is also equipped with smart technology, including a 12.8-inch intelligent rotating touch screen and an active sound design with a six-speaker sound system. Additionally, it offers wireless charging and a fixed panoramic sunroof. 
In terms of its range, the BYD Dolphin has the ability to travel up to 490km on a full charge with the extended variant. The extended variant can also accelerate from zero to 100km/h in just 7 seconds.
For the Malaysian market, the BYD Dolphin is available in 2 different variants. The different variants starts from the Dynamic standard range with a price tag of RM99,900 and the Premium extended range is priced at RM124,900. Both variants also offer vehicle-to-load power supply functionality, adding convenience and versatility.
