Porsche Holding Salzburg (PHS) Malaysia recently announced the appointment of Denyu Bostandzhiev as the co-Managing Director of PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM) and Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM). Starting from July 1, 2023, Denyu will assume leadership in Sales, Aftersales and Network Development, Marketing, and IT for both companies. His extensive experience in business strategy, operations, product development, and branding will be instrumental in elevating the profile and strengthening the Audi and Volkswagen businesses in Malaysia.
Denyu Bostandzhiev will be sharing the position with Kurt Leitner, who will continue overseeing HR and Finance operations. Denyu, bringing nearly two decades of experience in the automotive and engineering industry across three continents, has held various roles worldwide. Most recently, he served as the Managing Director of Porsche Ukraine LLC, where he successfully restructured brand departments and introduced a Business Process Management program, laying the foundation for a forward-thinking long-term brand strategy.
Notably, Denyu has previous ties to Malaysia, having been assigned there for two and a half years in 2016. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in securing the operations for locally assembled Volkswagen Arteon, Tiguan Allspace, and Golf GTI—a significant milestone for the Malaysian market, as the GTI had previously only been assembled in Germany and China.
Denyu takes over the position from Erik Winter, who played a vital role in reintroducing the Audi brand to Malaysia in July of the previous year. Erik also successfully built customer confidence through effective aftersales services, strengthened the dealer network, and expanded the product range for the Volkswagen brand during his impressive seven-year tenure. Erik will now assume the role of Managing Director at Porsche Holdings Salzburg in Chile.
PHS manages PHSAM and VPCM, the official distributors of Audi and Volkswagen cars in Malaysia. As a wholly owned subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, PHS is the largest and most successful automotive retailer in Europe, with a significant presence across 29 countries in South America, Eastern Europe, and Asia.
