Malaysian national carmaker Proton has launched the 2023 Proton Rahmah Campaign, aimed at reducing the cost of living for lower-income groups. The campaign, officially launched by the Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI), encourages Proton car owners to take advantage of a free 40-point safety check and an affordable service package priced at RM150.
This initiative is part of the government’s effort to reduce the burden of household expenses related to vehicle ownership, such as loan repayment, fuel, tolls, and maintenance. Proton is one of the first automotive company to support the government’s initiative and hopes that other brands will follow suit.
Proton’s decision to launch a Rahmah Campaign is in line with their efforts to offer more value to customers and provide affordable products and services to the public. Costs are shared evenly between Proton Edar and their dealers as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. The campaign is inclusive and is targeted at owners of various Proton models, including Persona, Iriz, Exora, Saga, Inspira, Waja, and Wira.
The campaign will run from April 12 to May 31, 2023. By taking advantage of the campaign, Proton car owners can free up funds for the upcoming Hari Raya celebration and ease their financial burden. The initiative is essential in providing affordable products and services to the public and promoting a culture of responsibility towards vehicle ownership. Proton hopes that with the campaign in place, owners will be compelled to service their cars at authorised service centres before starting the journey back during the festive period.
Following the successful implementation of the menu Rahmah initiative launched in January 2023, the government is looking to expand it to other sectors that can make a real difference in lowering living costs. Proton is proud to answer the call and support the government’s initiative. The company hopes that the launch of the Rahmah Campaign will be the first step towards building a more sustainable and equitable society where everyone can access affordable and reliable products and services.
