Over the past few years, the 4×4 lifestyle trend has gained popularity, with more people opting to own a pickup for weekend adventures as well as for work and family. In May 2023, Ford Ranger owners looking for fun, off-road weekend getaways in Malaysia can participate in two new Ford Ranger Getaways organized by Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC). The getaways offer a unique and enjoyable way to celebrate Mother’s Day this year while exploring the natural beauty of Malaysia’s “Banjaran Titiwangsa” (Titiwangsa Mountain Range).
The first trip, A Trip Through Nature at Gunung Jerai, will take place on May 6, 2023, and is a one-day excursion that involves driving up partially steep slopes on the way to the peak of Gunung Jerai. Participants will experience the thrill of tackling 4×4 challenges such as Hill Descent Control, Hill Launch Assist, and Side Slope at Bukit Kuang with a professional driving instructor. At the peak, an open-air dining experience awaits with a panoramic view of the coastline and Kedah’s endless paddy fields. Participants can also enjoy a 30-minute guided hike towards the Alur Naga Falls to revel in the sights and sounds of Malaysia’s diverse rainforest. 
The second trip, Chase the Sunrise in Cameron Highlands, is a two-day adventure on May 27-28, 2023, that involves a grand highland tour to experience the lesser-known trails and routes up Cameron Highlands. Participants will convoy with other Ranger owners and their companions on a scenic drive on some of the best roads in the country. Upon arrival at a charming resort destination, participants can enjoy a day of fun activities, including a barbeque party and a movie under the stars. The highlight of the trip is the sunrise chase on day two, where participants will convoy 40 km to a “mystery” viewpoint to witness the spectacular sunrise overlooking a sea of clouds. 
Both getaways are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Gunung Jerai trip offers two packages: the Individual & Couple Package priced at RM456.02 per person and the Family Package costing RM1,716.49 for four adults. Meanwhile, the Cameron Highlands adventure starts from RM1,047.77 per person, and both trips can accommodate up to four persons per vehicle. Children aged 16 and below can travel for free, and all prices are inclusive of insurance for travellers aged one to 80 years. Next-Generation Ranger owners can also enjoy a 30 percent discount on one Ford Ranger Getaways trip with their Inner Circle privilege card code.
