UMW Toyota Motor has announced the 2023 Toyota Tour calendar. It is the nation’s first premier professional golf tournament, created through a partnership with the Professional Golf of Malaysia. The tournament will begin on March 8-11 at Saujana Golf & Country Club, with RM230,000 in total prize money.
This year’s Toyota Tour will be followed by eight more tournaments in premium courses around the country, each offering a total prize money of RM210,000. The Toyota Championship, which is a co-sanctioned event with the Asian Development Tour, will take place at Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club on November 14-17 and will offer a prize pot of RM350,000.
Datuk Ravindran K, President of UMW Toyota Motor, stated that the Toyota Tour aims to elevate professional golf in the country by making it more lucrative and featuring premium venues. January 2023 saw strong sales for UMWT, with 6,771 units of Toyota sold and 15 units of Lexus sold, totalling 6,786 units.
