Perodua saw a 23% increase in sales in January 2023, with 21,449 units sold compared to 17,444 units in the same period the previous year. The automaker attributes this rise to its focus on maximizing production and delivery.
Production also saw a 40.2% increase in January 2023, with 24,590 units manufactured compared to 17,538 units in January 2022. Despite challenges such as a flood and shortages in semiconductor chips, manpower, and other parts, Perodua was still able to achieve these results.
Perodua President and CEO, Dato’ Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad, stated that the company remains committed to delivering vehicles to customers quickly while maintaining quality and safety. The automaker aims to sell 314,000 units and produce 330,000 units in 2023.
To further boost sales, Perodua will be launching the All-New Perodua Axia. Most customers who previously booked the current Axia model have agreed to switch to the new one, according to Dato’ Sri Zainal.
