Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has unveiled the locally-assembled all-electric flagship model EQS 500 4MATIC, which follows the successful launch of the EQS mid last year. The launch event was graced by Minister of International Trade and Industry YB Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz at Mercedes-Benz Production Plant in Pekan, Pahang.
The EQS 500 4MATIC is the first all-electric luxury saloon to be fully assembled locally, and the pioneer of a new generation of vehicles that are fully electric, fully digital, and uncompromisingly luxurious. The EQS is built on the modular architecture for the luxury electric vehicle segment, combining luxury, technology, design, functionality, and connectivity to offer a delightful experience for both drivers and passengers.
With a coupé-like silhouette, the muscular shoulder area and reduced lines in a seamless design, the EQS 500 4MATIC offers a distinctive and innovative look. It is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in just 4.8 seconds with the addition of a second electric motor and offers an impressive range of 696 kilometers (WLTP).
The EQS 500 4MATIC features Electric Art line exterior, with elegant chrome trim elements and 20-inch 5-spoke light-alloy wheels, and is equipped with the iconic Mercedes-Benz patterned radiator grille and panoramic sliding sunroof that allows ample light to brighten the cabin. The aerodynamicists, in close cooperation with the designers, achieved a new Cd benchmark of 0.20, making the EQS the most aerodynamic production car in the world.
The interior impresses with exquisite materials and top-quality workmanship, with the roof liner in black fabric, multifunction steering wheel in nappa leather, galvanised steering-wheel gearshift paddles, and anthracite linestructure lime wood trim. The EQS 500 4MATIC also comes with Driving Assistance Plus Package, URBAN GUARD vehicle protection, 360-degree camera, and Active Parking Assist, which provide drivers with a clear view of their surroundings when parking.
The all-new EQS 500 4MATIC comes standard with the futuristic and iconic MBUX Hyperscreen, featuring 3 displays seamlessly blending together beneath a glass panel. It houses the MBUX multimedia system and OLED technology for the central- as well as passenger display. A fingerprint scanner is ergonomically located below the central display storing personal settings and data such as recent destinations and addresses.
The All new EQS 500 4Matic will be priced at RM 648,888. For those who are interested, you can visit the nearest Mercedes Benz dealer or log on to https://www.mercedes-benz.com.my/ for more information.
