In order to hint the future of Peugeot, Peugeot unveiled the Inception Concept that will be inspiring the future Peugeot products from 2025 onwards. During the unveiling of the concept, Peugeot also showcase the next generation Peugeot i-cockpit and innovative Hypersquare control system with steer-by-wire technology.

The Inception Concept is built on the STLA Large platform, and will be powered by a 100kWh battery with an estimated maximum range of 795km. By using 2 electric motor, the Inception concept can produce almost 680hp with a 0-100km/h acceleration time below 3 seconds. This concept will also feature the 800V architecture, which has the ability to get about 150km with just 5 minutes of charging. To top it off, wireless charging is also available on the Inception Concept.

For the exterior, the concept vehicle introduces a new, simpler and more refined design language for the brand. The front of the vehicle gets features an all-new light signature and incorporating Peugeots distinctive claw design. The front grille is made out of a single piece of glass with the Peugeot logo at the centre, and it will house all the sensors inside.

Along the door layer, there is a Tech Bar that can display different messages when the driver and passengers approach it. The Tech Bar also has the ability to display the battery charge level and houses many sensors and radars, leaving the bodywork completely smooth. For the passenger compartment, the Inception Concept come uses a 7.25mof glazing to create a glass capsule around the driver and passengers.

With the new STLA large platform, the Inception Concept will pave the way for a new range of platforms from 2023 to revolutionize Peugeot of the future. The STLA platform will also introduce a few new technological modules that is powered by artificial intelligence. These modules include STLA Brain, STLA SmartCockpit and STLA AutoDrive.

Being the staple of Peugeot’s interior design for the past few years, Peugeot will be introducing a new and more intuitive i-Cockpit design. Named the Hypersquare control system, this control system is inspired by video games that does away the conventional steering wheel in favour of digital electric controls and steer-by-wire technology.

The next generation i-Cockpit also includes the Stellantis STLA SmartCockpit technology platform and STLA AutoDrive, enabling Level 4 autonomous driving. When driving is delegated, Hypersquare retracts and a large panoramic screen slides out from the floor to offer a new passenger compartment experience.

Inside the Peugeot Inception Concept, it features a minimal cockpit that is driver focus, while the dashboard, crossbar, and the bulkhead has been removed for a completely open view of the road. The interior will be wrapped in sustainable ‘moulded textile’ such as 100% recycled polyester for the seats and floor mat.

With the introduction of the Peugeot Inception Concept, this is a showcase of the new techniques Peugeot target to reduce carbon foorprint by more than 50% by 2030 in Europe and to become fully Carbon Net Zero by 2038. For the next 2 years, Peugeot will also launch 5 more BEV models, and by 2030, all Peugeot sold in Europe will be fully electric.
