When Agong was seen driving the Hyundai Palisade, many Malaysians suddenly took notice that Hyundai has a vehicle that even the royal family would drive. To ride on this hype, Hyundai Sime Darby launch the updated Hyundai Palisade. The latest Palisade will now come in 2 powertrain and 2 different seating configuration.

Just like the pre-facelift model, the latest Palisade will be fully imported from South Korea. This means that customers can now customize the interior of the Palisade just like the Hyundai Staria. Customers could choose different exterior colours and interior colours to suit their personality.

For the updated Palisade, the exterior do get some changes to make it look more up to date. At the front, the new Palisade will come with a new front grille, new headlights, and new bumper with a different looking skid plate. And for the rear, it also gets a new bumper as well, and the taillights have also been redesigned. On the petrol variant, the redesigned taillights are LED version, but the diesel variant only get bulb type taillights. Lastly, the updated Palisade come with a new 20-inch rims wrapped in 245/45 R20 tyres.

On the inside, the Palisade come with a new steering design that is similar to the steering as the Sonata and Staria. The infotainment screen and instrument cluster screen size have been enhanced to the 12.3-inch that fitted the look of the vehicle better. The updated infotainment screen do come with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, but this system only allow wired connection between the phone and system.

From factory, the Palisade will come with only rear view camera and regular audio system. If customers are interested, they could request from Hyundai to upgrade the camera system to a 360 degree cameras and premium audio system at a price. Other than that, the Palisade will come with 6 USB-C charging slot, heads up display, bezel-less rear view mirror, and heated and ventilated front seats. The 7-seater variant also get heated and ventilated seat at the 2nd row, but 8-row only get heated seat.

Interior design wise, Hyundai designers have integrated the front AC vents to give the cabin more premium look and feel. The premium feel is also enhanced with black colour buttons and switches, which replaces the grey colour buttons and switches. On top of that, the wireless charger have also been enhance from a regular 5W charger to a 15W charger.

The powertrain of the Palisade is similar to the pre-facelift model, which is powered by the 3.8L V6 petrol engine and 2.2L inline 4 turbo diesel engine. For the 3.8L V6 engine, it has the ability to produce 295 PS and 355 Nm of peak torque. The Petrol Palisade can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 7.8 seconds and to a top speed of 210 km/h. The petrol engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and power is being sent to the front wheels.

And for the 2.2L turbo diesel engine, it is the same engine that power the Santa Fe and Staria. The diesel engine can produce 200 PS of power and 440 Nm of torque, which helps the Palisade to hit the 100km/h in 10.2 seconds, and to a top speed of 190km/h. The turbo engine is also mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, and power is distributed to all 4 wheels through the HTRAC all-wheel drive system.

With the updated Palisade, Hyundai Malaysia has opted to fully load all variants of the Palisade with a whole host of ADAS system. The ADAS system include Smart cruise control with Stop and Go, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Following Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist – Junction, High Beam Assist, Driver Attention Warning, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, Safe Exit Alert, and Rear Occupant Alert.

The latest Palisade will be available in 6 different exterior colour that include Creamy White Pearl, Graphite Grey Metallic, Shimmering Silver Metallic, Gaia Brown Pearl, Abyss Black Pearl, and Moonlight Blue Pearl. As for interior colour, there are 3 colours to choose from which include Warm Grey Nappa Leather with Layered Wood, Burgundy Nappa Leather with Cloth Look, and Black Monotone Leather with Cloth Look.

In terms of the pricing, the updated Hyunda Palisade will start from RM 368,888 and to RM 399,888.
