Hyundai’s futuristic and luxurious 7-seater MPV will be launching soon in Malaysia. Named the Staria Premium, it will be Hyundai’s most luxurious Hyundai MPV that is aimed at professionals and active urban families.
Being the 1st Purpose-Built Vehicle by Hyundai, the Staria represents Hyundai’s vision for future mobility and its transformation into a Smart Mobility Solution provider. Hyundai’s Smart Mobility Solution is their response to the ever changing needs of consumers by offering them purposeful, innovative features and redefining in-car travel experiences in line with the Hyundai’s vision of ‘Progress for Humanity’.
The Staria Premium comes with a futuristic design language, makes the Staria looks like a spaceship. The sleek exterior is defined by a single stroke running from front to rear, which is inspired by the curve of light that illuminates the Earth’s horizon at sunrise when viewed from space.
Staria Premium’s front is embellished with horizontal daytime running lights (DRLs) and a positioning lamp on its front, both running across the width of the vehicle. This is complemented by a bold, wide radiator grille with a unique pattern. Its clean silhouette is further accented by a pair of low-set headlamps. Hyundai uses the same body color for all frontal parts to maximize the vehicle’s modern and pure style.
For the interior, the design has been inspired by the interior of a cruise ship, delivers an open and unique atmosphere through its innovative design architecture. Continuing with the cruise ship, the Staria lower beltlines and panoramic windows create a spacious and stimulating environment for all passengers.
In terms of seats, the driver and passenger seats in the first row are designed to offer a feeling of space and comfort. The overall layout for the interior focuses only on the essentials to provide more room and flexibility, where the cargo space availability varies depending on how the seating configurations are arranged. The two- and three-seater, optimized for business use, offers maximum cargo space of almost 5,000 liters.
The Staria Premium is expected to be powered with a diesel-powered 2.2 CRDi engine. The newly improved diesel engine is mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission, delivering an estimated power output of 177PS and 431Nm of torque.
