Proton recently launched a special edition variant of the Proton X70. Limited to just 2,000 units, the Proton X70 Special Edition will get new luxury features with a brand new colour, and with an on-the-road price of RM 123,800 without insurance.
The Proton X70 Special Edition will come in an exclusive colour called Ocean Blue on top of the Ruby Red colour. The exterior of the Proton X70 Special Edition will get blacked out roof, rear spoiler and door mirrors. The newly designed 19-inch sport rims and an exclusive SE emblem on the tailgate to complete the look of the Proton X70 Special Edition. 
On the inside, the Proton X70 Special Edition will come in black colour Nappa leather with red colour stitching to give it a luxury feel with a hint of sportiness. There are also exclusive interior trim finishing and new SE specific carpet mats to make the interior even more special. 
At the base, the Proton X70 Special Edition is mechanically identical to the Premium 2WD variant. Which comes with the same 1.8L TGDi engine with 7-speed dual clutch transmission. Another highlight is the Proton Intelligent Air Purification System (P-IAPS) that is able to provide the benefit of the N95 cabin filter to give the cabin a cleaner air. 
In terms of safety, the Proton X70 Special Edition will feature the whole list of safety system which includes six SRS airbags and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that adds an additional layer of active safety to reduce the risk of accidents, along with Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and 360 Camera.
