Hyundai Sime Darby will be installing Telematics System for all new Hyundai Grand Starex registered from May 1st to ensure the safety of the owners and their passengers in case of accidents or breakdown. The Telematics System will also act as a concierge service to bring convenience to the owners by helping them to book a service or locate and report the stolen vehicle.
The Telematics System comes with five services, which include:
- eCall: Automatic Accident Detection – Activate automatically when a great impact to the vehicle, a crash alert. This will prompt the Secure Operating Centre (SOC) to alert the vehicle owner to confirm the emergency. If no reaction from vehicle owner, SOC will dispatch necessary services to the vehicle location.
- Manual eCall: Emergency Assistance – Allow the driver to make a SOS call when the button on the map console is being pressed. The SOC will then alert the vehicle owner to confirm the situation, and the SOC will contact which ever services needed.
- bCall: Breakdown Assistance – when activated, the breakdown service will immediately be dispatched to the location.
- Service Assist – The system will track the vehicle’s mileage via satellite, and will notify an authorized Hyundai service center to schedule a service appointment with the vehicle owner. On top of that, it will also send reminder to the owner about their insurance and roadtax renewal.
- Mobile App – Owners can access a host of convenient features such as locating the vehicle, reporting a missing vehicle, making other non-emergency reports and enquiries, recording trips made by the vehicle as well as the driver’s behaviour analysis.
