In order to enhance the appeal of the Volkswagen Golf GTi, Volkswagen Malaysia recently updated their Golf GTi for 2023 model year. This updated car will add better safety systems, interior equipment and exterior updates. The updated Golf GTi is now RM 18,000 more than the outgoing vehicle with a price tag of RM 244,990.
The 2023 Golf GTi will see new feature such as wireless charging and embroidered GTI logo on the driver and front passenger seats. Additionally, the exterior also come with new equipment such as new fog lights, electrically heated and adjustable folding mirrors.
But the biggest update for the 2023 Golf GTi is in safety and driver assistance system. This is the 1st time that the IQ. Drive available in any Volkswagen vehicle here in Malaysia. The IQ. Drive will add Travel Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Side Assist with active blind spot monitor, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
On top of that, the Golf GTi come with Front Assist that adds Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). The AEB not only have the ability to detect vehicles, it could detects pedestrians and cyclists crossing the road. Lane Assist also available on the updated Golf GTi include lane-keeping assist and adaptive lane guidance function. The Golf GTi also adds an additional centre airbag, pushing the airbag count to 7.
In terms of powertrain, the Golf GTi will continue to be powered by the turbocharged engine generating a 245PS and 370Nm of torque.
