In the month of December, Perodua manage to see a sales increase of 13%, which translated to a total of 22,940 vehicles sold compare to the month of November 2021.
In total, Perodua managed to register a total of 190,291 vehicles in 2021, falling by 13.6% from 220,154 units sold in 2020. Perodua sales have been affected not only by the impact of Covid-19, but also the chip shortage and the recent floods also impacted production.
Despite this, the Myvi continues to lead the overall Malaysian market in terms of sales by model with 47,525 units followed by the Axia and Bezza dominating the country’s A segment market. As an industry overview, the total industry volume (TIV) for 2021 also see a decrease of 23.6% to 504,536 units from 528,172 units sold in the year 2020.
In December, Perodua forecasted a 240,000 sales target for 2022, however, the figure might be reviewed in a later date by monitoring the latest developments and events. Regarding the recent Perodua Flood Assistance programme, there are about 1,675 people responded to the programme and those vehicles are being inspected at Perodua service centres across the country.
